Trip to Neuschwanstein Castle on Saturday

Build by King Ludwig II in the end of the 19th century, Neuschwanstein castle is nowadays a famous castle all over the world. A lot of people call it the fairy-tale castle and so it?s no wonder that it served as inspiration for the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland. Our trip will enthral you with the magic of Neuschwanstein and the history of the era of King Ludwig II. During our trip we visit the two of his most important castles located in the Bavarian Alps with a great view to the mountains.

Our itinerary for the day

08:00 Departure from Lindau with our bus
  10:30 Visit of Hohenschwangau castle
  12:00 Free time for you
13:30 Meeting at Neuschwanstein Castle for the guided tour
  16:00 Departure back to Lindau
  19:00 Arrival at Lindau

The first station of our trip is the childhood residence of King Ludwig II, Hohenschwangau Castle, build arround 1830. After the guided tour you will have free time to enjoy the beauty of the landscape around the two castles. There are several restaurants within walking distance. However, though you may be fascinated you should not forget to make the way up to Neuschwanstein Castle. We meet at the inner courtyard of Neuschwanstein for the castle tour at 13:30. The walk up to the castle takes no longer than 40 minutes. If you want to go up like in old times the king did, there are waiting many horse coaches at the bottom of the hill. A lot of the ways are made with gravel, so you should think about appropriate shoes for the trip.

More information about the destination of the bus trip:

Hochenschwangau - the town lying inbetween the two castles
